Use a surge protector for computers and phone equipment. A surge through either can destroy connected computer equipment.
Keep a hard copy of important phone numbers, computer codes and passwords, and business operations information.
Regularly back up all files important to your business, including accounting data, employee records, customer lists, supply lists and inventory.
Make pre-arrangements with computer vendors to quickly replace damaged hardware. Keep invoices, shipping lists and other documentation of your system configuration off-site so you can quickly order replacement components.
